The Quartet Project, the educational outreach program of Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, is celebrating its 21st year as an intense summer chamber music program for advanced string instrumentalists. Students study chamber music repertoire (quartets, trios, quintets) in addition to orchestral music. Group session topics often include instrument care, musician health and basic music theory.
Students will participate in rehearsals and coaching Mondays and Wednesdays with faculty artists from the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra. Students also receive season tickets to the 2017 LSCO summer season.
Students join the LSCO in a public performance on the evening of Thursday, July 27th. The students of Quartet Project present their own concert performance on Wednesday, July 26th at 5:00 PM.
Activities will take place on the campus of UMD at the Chester Park Building. Rehearsals and performance with the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra will take place at Weber Hall at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
